Sex on Holiday |
||||||||||||
You don’t have to live the life of a eunuch while you’re backpacking across Europe. If you and your partner, while gazing at the moonlight dancing over the soft waves of the beautiful blue Danube, feel the need to express your love for each another on a more physical level, you may do so. NOT, however, on the banks of the Danube but (obviously) somewhere private. Though having sex on holiday is an acceptable practice, there are some no-no’s that you should be aware of. The most important one is, obviously, to not have sex with strangers. It doesn’t matter if his smoldering eyes can bore holes into your soul, or if her smile can rival the brightness of the sun. No matter how sizzling your potential partner is, remember that you don’t know him (or her) from Adam (or Eve). Resist temptation and take a cold shower instead. If you’re out with your friends, don’t let them pressure you into doing something you feel you are not ready for. If they are out to look for a summer romance, and you are not, tell them and ask them to respect your decision. That goes not just for your friends, but to your significant other. If your partner is feeling amorous and you are not, he (or she) should respect you enough to abide by your decision. In case you are in the mood for love, whether it is with your significant other who has joined you in this European adventure, or a mysterious European whom you have fallen madly in love with, it wouldn’t hurt at all if you followed these safety precautions. Even before you leave for Europe, make sure that you have purchased a pack of condoms. You will be in a foreign country and you will not be sure if condoms are readily available at the nearest drugstore, and of the condom’s quality. It doesn’t matter if you are male or female, it pays to be prepared. When you’re packing your condoms, make sure that you keep these away from sun blocks and creams that contain ingredients that can affect the durability of the material. Ensure too, that these are kept out of direct sunlight (but do not keep these inside your wallet either). Bringing contraceptive does not necessarily mean that you’ll actively go out and hunt for a sexual partner. You are just going out of your way to protect yourself. Though it would be thrilling to have vivid memories of a night of pure unbridled passion, knowing that you have contracted a serious disease or worse, gotten pregnant (or gotten someone pregnant) would surely dampen even the most joyous and exuberant spirit. You’re not being a prude or old fashioned by being careful, you are simply being wise and sensible. Remember that, you as an adult should be responsible for your actions and the consequences of these. If you feel that you will not be able to handle the possible repercussions, do yourself a favor and behave. At the end of the day, whether or not something goes wrong, you have no one else to blame but yourself.
