Women Backpackers

Backpacking has become a lifestyle that both men and women enjoy. Equal opportunity and all aside, it cannot be denied that men and women can have different needs in the same situations, and backpacking is no exception. Apart from the basics in travel and safety, here are some things that women should keep in mind before going on their trip:

You will be making the most of your adventure by packing what is right. Consider your wardrobe. Bring clothes made of comfortable and durable material because you will be wearing them repeatedly. Make sure that you keep in mind cultural nuances of the places you will be visiting, as certain types of clothing may be at the least offensive or at the worst make you a target for sexual attacks.

Negligible as it may seem, sensible underwear is important in the long run. Wearing an underwired bra paired with a thong while carrying a fully-loaded backpack will be extremely uncomfortable at the least. Furthermore, wired underwear does not pack well as it is prone to bend out of shape.

Some women have an easier time leaving some of their clothes back home than leaving their toiletries. Womanly concerns such as the monthly period can be unavoidable. To make things easier, make a list of things that you know you can only get at home and of those that you can replenish elsewhere. With this list, you can identify what to bring in durable travel containers or purchase in disposable packs.
