It is useful to know that the average weather of an area over a long period of time constitutes it climate. Generally, the climate is cooler as one proceeds pole ward from the equator although there are bound to be exceptions because of the variations in land forms, ocean currents and air movements. Location determines to a certain degree, the way which natural and man-made environmental factors combine to give each and every place its own distinct characteristics. It also determines the length of each day and night. A backpacker would soon learn that there are no permanent rules and guidelines when travelling. What a person intending to travel should do is to gather as much relevant information he needs before embarking on a trip. Fellow travellers are selfless when it comes to advice and important information; you just have to look for it. Their travelled routes need not be followed strictly. Travelling is essentially a personal journey, where it is you who will ultimately decide where, when, how, why and with whom you will go. A backpacker’s trip may be as short as two days or may be as long as two years, it really doesn’t matter. Prepare yourself for unavoidable difficulties but prepare yourself as well to cherish the treasure of what you will only experience through the backpacker way. |
