Sevilla

Legend has it that Sevilla was founded by Hercules. So if you are looking for that hero’s welcome, this may just be the place for you. Sevilla is universally known for being a happy place. Though the locals are famous the world over for their exceptional wit and sparkle, the city itself is fascinating. Lying on the banks of the Guadalquivir and one of the historic centers in Europe, this place is a treasure chest of culture, history and legend. Sevilla is also the administrative capital of Andalucia.

Getting Around

Sevilla is an exciting place where it is quite ordinary to see people get around on horses. The roads are not top-notch but local inland transportation is versatile with at least 3 choices of transport medium per destination.

Things to See

The old city is a great jump-off point for sightseeing, with the Cathedral and the Giralda tower right at its center. Nearby, there’s the Royal Mudejar Palace also known as the Alcazar with spectacularly lush greens. Other sites worth your visit include the Casa de Pilatos, the Triana bridge, the vicinity of the Church of Santa Ana with its traditional ceramic factories and the Guadalquivir River.

TIP

A valuable piece of advice for those visiting Sevilla is not to miss out on the tapas. This place is known for their invention. They have numerous bars where the choice is virtually unlimited. It is actually quite a tradition, moving from one pace to another to complete a certain meal.
