Zagreb

Not a lot of people are aware of the existence of Zagreb, the capital city of the Republic of Croatia. This old European city has been a beautiful blend of science and culture and later on, commerce and industry. The strategic location of Zagreb also holds special appeal to tourists and investors alike — lying on the intersection of important routes between the Adriatic coast and Central Europe.

Getting Around

Public transportation
like buses and taxis are easily available in Zagreb but its relaxed charm and easy aura seem to entice people to get around on foot to be able to take in the beautiful surroundings of this city all the more.

Things to See

One will have a very hard time getting bored in Zagreb. This city is just bursting with beautiful sites all eager to grab your attention — from the Baroque atmosphere of the upper town, quaint open-air markets, numerous green parks and walks, and diverse shopping destinations.

Things to Do

Zagreb has a great nightlife and their numerous casinos, discotheques, nightclubs, pubs, cocktail bars, and beer halls are all worth the visit.

Where to Stay

Zagreb has a wide selection of hostels and hotels in different price ranges. There’s the upscale Sheraton Zagreb and the Westin Zagreb. One can also opt for the Astoria Best Western Premier Hotel or the Central. For those who do not mind roughing it a bit, there are really cheap alternatives like the Hotel Hunjka and the Ilica.

TIP

It is not advisable to have a set itinerary for a trip to Zagreb. This diverse city is jam-packed with business, academic, cultural, sporting, and artistic pursuits that one will always have the opportunity to be blissfully lost.
